Bullwhips! Stock whips! and other Nonsense!
Ok so we all have that one friend who really beleives in us, but always gets us into trouble by challenging us more than we think we can handle? For me that person is my leather mentor and close friend Brett of TStar Leather.
After an afternoon learning to crack bullwhips with a fellow friend and performer Jim. An offhand comment about how cool some of the construction techniques were, but how little i desired to learn it. Became his incentive to challenge me to try my hand. How it would be a "good learning experience for me," became a personal version of the tedium of the dmv for me. Thus I purchased my first whip, built my first leather stock whip, and then a nylon whip. What you see below are the results of Brett, being my best friend and worst enemy. Thanks Brett!
The first is a stock whip constructed of blue roughman leather from hyde house, paracord for the turkshead knots, and oak rod for the handle base.
The second is much the same for the knots, and handle but the thong is entirely made from paracord.
